Exterior Facade Repair Program

Evanston Township High School consists of numerous buildings and facilities on a 65-acre campus site in Evanston, Illinois. The main buildings and facilities are located on the eastern portion of the site, with parking lots and athletic fields and facilities on the western portion of the campus. The dates of construction of the buildings vary, beginning in the early 1920’s through the mid 1960’s. The majority of the building facades are clad with clay brick masonry. Terra cotta and limestone ornamentation is used at various points throughout the facades and metal-framed windows and curtainwalls of various configurations and sizes are used in the building facades.

Exterior Facade Repairs:

Over the years, the repair program for the exterior facades of the various building included:

  • Masonry tuckpointing

  • Brick replacement and reconstruction

  • Terra cotta repairs and GFRC replacement

  • Caulking of miscellaneous building sealant joints
